Topic: Mobile Tileset size confusion

Hi,

I must say I love this asset.  I've been researching this forum about sizing tileset for mobile screen resolution.  I believe you've even responded to an email I sent.  But I'm trying different things out, and now I'm confused...

I am just curious about the size.  Some threads mention using Tileset.Resize(), and I've seen other threads where it's specifically mentioned to use a multiple of N * 256 for selecting a size.

1.  My iPhone 6+ screen is 1242x2208. Should I use 1280x2304 (256 times 5, 256 times 9)?
2.  Since Tileset is a generated mesh, not a texture, can't we just use any size we need rather than multiples of 256?
3.  I would like to reposition the tileset, centered at 0,0,0 once it's been resized.  How would I do that?

Thanks!

Re: Mobile Tileset size confusion

Hello.

In Online Maps v2.5 this limitation removed.

1. v2.4 - yes, v2.5 - no.
3. After you change the tileset size, change map.transform.position = new Vector3 (newWidth / 2, 0, newHeight / -2);
If you want to change position after the redraw, use OnlineMaps.OnMapUpdated.

Thanks Alex!

How can I tell what version of online maps I'm using?

Re: Mobile Tileset size confusion

Online Maps Inspector / Help / About
or
GameObject / Infinity Code / Online Maps / About
or
OnlineMaps.cs
public const string version = "2.X.X.XX";

Okay thanks.  Looks like I'm on 2.4.0.62

I will upgrade through your upgrade system.

Re: Mobile Tileset size confusion

I just checked updates with my invoice number for the asset purchase and it shows 2.4 is the latest version.  Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

Re: Mobile Tileset size confusion

Thanks.  I have downloaded and installed the beta.  Just curious what I need to do to stop the Welcome dialog from popping up every time I start Unity now?
