Topic: OpenStreetMap dark mode

Hello, anyone has a way to have open street maps in dark mode? I have my own instance of OSM, but there is no dark mode styling in Online Maps asset. I see Mapnik, Black and White (not working for me), DE, France, HOT.

Any suggestions why BlackAndWhite is not working?

Thanks for help.

Re: OpenStreetMap dark mode

Hello.

Unfortunately, in Online Maps v3 and v4, you can’t use a dark theme simply because the provider (OSM) doesn’t provide it.
BlackAndWhite was removed by the provider, and there’s nothing I can do about it.
In the current versions, BlackAndWhite has also been removed from the list of styles.

You can try CartoDB / DarkMatter or Stadia Alidade Smooth Dark.

Or you can try changing the tile appearance using a shader.
An example is attached.

Re: OpenStreetMap dark mode

Thanks. How do I apply the shader to the map?

When I put it on the "Tileset shader" in the Tileset component nothing changes. Also I've tried creating a new material with that shader and putting it in the "Tile material" in the Tileset component.

Re: OpenStreetMap dark mode

Put this to "Tileset / Materials & Shaders / Tileset Shader".
