Topic: File Cache Performance

Hello there,

we are using Onlinemaps for quite some time now and we were able to solve all challenges so far. But there is one major issue we are unable to optimize. This is why I contact you.

Whenever new tiles load for the first time and are saved to the file cache, there is a noticeable stutter. If I disable file cache, this stutter does not happen. (Profiler screenshot attached)

Of course, we could just disable it, but not having file cache surely decreases the users experience.

We are on version 3.9.1.1. Any tipps? Would it make sense to switch to 4.0? Surely would mean a lot of work.

Thanks,
Danish

Re: File Cache Performance

While testing this issue, I realized there is seemingly no reason to use file cache. Disabling it solved all performance issues completely and the tiles do even load faster without it.

This is why tbh for me the issue is resolved smile Please correct me if there is any reason to use it for us.

Edit:
Is there a way to change the default color of the map prior loading? Without file cache when zooming faster than the tiles load, we see a gray fallback texture on the map.

Re: File Cache Performance

Hello.

You can change the default tile color and texture in the Online Maps / Advanced section.
