Topic: CityEngine

I have a few feature ideas.
I would like buildings to be made a bit like CityEngine.
Also cars and people to be moving on the streets. Can we discuss the possibility?

Re: CityEngine

Hello.

Yes, of course we can discuss it.
But are you sure that this feature request for the «Notes» asset?
Perhaps you would like to do it in Real World Terrain section.

Yes sorry wrong place, can you move topic?

Re: CityEngine

Topic moved.

That's what I think about it:
I looked at the prices for CityEngine: 500-5K $ per license.
It's too expensive to buy it just for the integration.
If you, esri, or someone else will give us a copy of CityEngine to make the integration, we can try to do it.
I know that CityEngine has a trial version, but that is not enough, because perhaps we will need to fix bugs after trail period expired.

Re: CityEngine

I have a CityEngine license but will have to check with ESRI what I am allowed to do with this. Will PM you my skype id.

Re: CityEngine

Just to follow up I have PM'd you my skype id.

I also have an idea how to make urban traffic using this:
http://www.dlr.de/ts/en/desktopdefault. … ead-41000/

This will take in OpenStreetMap and create a network for urban simulation. If you use the WebWizard script it will open a browser and you download a map and it puts down vehicles, people, boats, trains.

Re: CityEngine

Hello.

I saw your PM, and send you a request to skype January 20, got no answer me.
Let's try another way - I will give you with PM my skype ID.

About SUMO:
Currently it is impossible.
First of all, someone has to make a port or a bridge SUMO in Unity.

Yes but this is not so hard using the TraCi interface :- TCP connection to send commands and retrieve information from SUMO.

Re: CityEngine

The problem is not how to do it.
The problem is what to do with that data.
Give this data to some road engine? Currently, no one road engine can not work with it.
Make our own road engine? Maybe someday we'll do it, but it will be another project.
