Topic: Experinces in licensing / term of use / etc.

Hey there,
I'm a new user of online maps and like the possibilities... but before I really start using it, I just want to make sure not to get in trouble with all the legal stuff. As the readme says:

"Online Maps provides you with the technical ability to use the map in your application, but does not give you any permissions and privilege. When working with Online Maps, you must comply with the terms of the license agreement of chosen provider."

Even I found such endless terms of use texts, I barly understand them as a non english speaker.

I'd be interested in you tips/experiences/thoughts?

Maybe example would also be helpful: If I decide to make an app using data from ArcGIS - WorldImagery? If this is a free app are there any problems use these data? If I sell this app for 1,99€ aka comercial use - is this a problem?

I have no problem for paying for licenses/data, but at the moment I just have no experience. Maybe you could help.

best regards
Simeon

Hello

This means that we are not responsible for what you do with Online Maps.
We do not know how you will use it. We can just believe that all of our users read the license agreement of selected provider and follow it.

Online Maps has a lot of ways to legally use.
Providers of tiles are divided into 3 groups:
1. That you can use for free, such as Open Street Maps.
2. For legal use of which you need to pay. For example: Bing Maps, here.com, or mapbox. Usually they have free rates with some quota.
3. Which can not be legally used. I think you know who I mean.
But there is a way work around this: Tiles are supplied by third-party vendors (such as DigitalGlobe) and you can buy tiles directly and use in your application.
https://developer.digitalglobe.com/maps-api/

If you ask about ArcGIS, I have not found a prohibit the use of tiles in the third-party applications.
