Topic: Is the map loaded with multiple threads ?

When I look at the source code, I found the OnlineMapsThreadManager class, but when the program is running, it has not been called except Dispose () function. So I would like to know the role of this Class, when there will be a role.
I have also  not found Coroutine in the source code, maybe I am not careful, I just want to be sure, if it do not have these,When the network is not good place, there will be no delay?
      Thanks!

Re: Is the map loaded with multiple threads ?

Hello.

This is a helper class that executes in a separate thread some long operations.
For example: parsing data of buildings, or merge of large arrays of colors.
Yes, Online Maps directly does not use Coroutine.
No you will not have delays in the bad connection, and when no internet at all.

Re: Is the map loaded with multiple threads ?

All of the tiles are loaded in a thread, if a tile loaded slowly, will not affect the tile after loading it? Or the use of multiple threads in the load tiles .

Re: Is the map loaded with multiple threads ?

Online Maps download textures of tiles using WWW.
https://docs.unity3d.com/ScriptReference/WWW.html
This class is asynchronous and does not affect to speed of work.

Re: Is the map loaded with multiple threads ?

thank you!
I found that when loading the image of tile, it will first load the fuzzy picture, this is the program to write the first download the low resolution image, and then download the high resolution of the picture? This is not a waste of time to load it? Because the resolution will be refreshed several times, and finally to load the correct picture .

Re: Is the map loaded with multiple threads ?

Online Maps uses tiles of current zoom + tiles of 3 parent zoom.
It is made to show the map as soon as possible.
All mapping solutions, that use the tiles, work in this way.
You can disable this «Online Maps / Advanced / Use Current Zoom Tiles - ON».

Re: Is the map loaded with multiple threads ?

In fact, I would like to know the specific implementation, through the reading of each tile pixel points, and then combined into a new picture?
     thanks!

Re: Is the map loaded with multiple threads ?

Online Maps uses tiles of current zoom + tiles of 3 parent zoom.
I want to know how this is achieved.

Re: Is the map loaded with multiple threads ?

This makes the buffer. See OnlineMapsBuffer.UpdateBackBuffer.
But I do not understand for what you need this.
