Topic: About the permission of using satellite image as texture
Hi all, I am using Real World Terrain and can successfully make a terrain with satellite image as texture. But I am still not sure the permission guidelines of using these satellite images in making 3D models. I do have read through the agreements and terms from Google Map, Bing Map etc (as suggested in Readme - Commercial Use), but still no solid answers on whether the satellite image can be used to build 3D model or how to attribute the source after using it as texture.
I am making a 3D terrain model that can be viewed on free public website, not for revenue purpose. Usually Google and Bing allow the use of their maps on web page or other platforms with their required attributions explained in their terms. But for making a 3D model, does anyone have any ideas on how to appropriately attribute the source of images? This is because there will be no attribution on the satellite images after making it as a model.
Any advice will be appreciated, thanks!
