Strange Behavior with resetCameraRotationExample & ui button

I'm trying to setup a reset camera rotation button based on the example script. Somehow it won't work properly.

* it is working properly if i call the function from the OnGUI button created in the script

* it doesn't work well when i use a ui button created in the inspector.

Both button call the same function though. it seems to work if if keep moving my cursor but doesn't work if i just click and stay inactive with my mouse.
It is like the map doesn't refresh if i keep my mouse over my UI button after clicking (wtf?)
