Error enabling Mip Maps

Hey Alex,
I'm trying to use Huge Texture on Mobile (Android) and my first test is very good:
14336x14336, 2048 Page size, compression).

But the issue comes enabling Mip Maps:
Error: "Rebuilding mipmaps of compressed 2DArray textures is not supported"
Warning:"'ETC_RGB4' is not supported on this platform. Decompressing texture."

Do you think this is a platform limitation or is there a way to apply mips before compression or enable the use of another compression supported by android?
Thanks

Max

Hello,
I am working on a webgl project with HD 360 panoramas, and I would like to start the scene as quickly as possible. Then, during a short tutorial, I would like to download the tiles async from an http server and I am wondering if there is a way to do this ?
Best regards
Philippe

Download a Huge Texture with UPano ?

Hello
I am trying HugeTexture which seems to be a fantastic asset (review very soon !) and I would like if there is a way to use the Dowloader script in UPano with a HugeTexture ?

If not, the only way to have a more detailed 360 photo is to convert it into cubefaces, right ? I mean 8192x8192 pix/6 side = about 400 MPixels.

The issue with a so large photo is that it might take a while to load/display. Something that would be very intersting, that almost all 360 softwares do, would be to have progressive resolution, exactly like tiled maps. 512x512x6, then 1024x1024x6 2048x2048x6 etc : then the tiles are loaded only if needed, when the user zooms into the 360 photo.

It takes more space on the disk but loading is much better. Don't hesitate to ask if not clear.

Another suggestion : the 16384 limit is a little bit to low, 32768 would be perfect for me if possible.

Best regards

Philippe

Unity version compatibility ?

Hi !

Your asset "Huge Texture" seems very interesting, but as written in the assetstore page it is written "Support Unity versions
Unity 2019.3.0 or higher".

As I am working on a 2018.3.14 Unity project, I am wondering if this version is definitely not supported or if it might work ?

In your road map, I read that RWT 4.5 will be compatible with Huge Texture, which improvement will this bring ? Better quality ?

Best regards
