1. 3d marker is being forced backwards how do I set its y rotation in the spawner? Basically stuck with my player seeing himself walk backwards. Setting the objects y to 180 in prefab doesn't fix as on spawn it sets the prefabs y rotation to 0. If i rotate the model all my mecanim animations will be off and backwards before you suggest changing position in 3d program.

Hello.

Wrap your 3d marker to a new GameObject, create prefab from an external GameObject, and use new prefab for 3d markers.
In this case, you can control the internal GameObject, rotate it and use mecanim.
