Topic: Unity v5.5 Android crashes [Fixed]

Hello.

Current status: Fixed in Unity v.5.5.1p4

Unity v5.5 has been released, but unfortunately it has a critical problem:
«Input.location.Start()» crashes Android application.
Online Maps uses this method to initialize GPS.

We do not have solution to this, and need to wait for fix from Unity.
So if you plan to develop for Android, do not upgrade to Unity v5.5.
We will let you know when the problem will be fixed.

Reproducible:
5.4: 5.4.4p1, 5.4.4p2
5.5: 5.5.0f1-5.5.0f3, 5.5.0p1-5.5.0p4, 5.5.1f1, 5.5.1p1
5.6: 5.6.0a5, 5.6.0b1-5.6.0b7

The problem is not in Online Maps.
The problem in Unity.
Over the last month the problem is not is fixed.
Waiting for fix.

Answer:
Hi yes, apologies for the wait. It was a more complex problem than the team initially thought. There is a fix for 5.6 on the way which is being tested right now, and it will also be backported to 5.5 and 5.4. We will know soon from QA in what upcoming patch this fix will land in.

Status: Fixed (5.6). Finally! Probably in the next patch will be a fix to.

5.6.0b8 has just been released and contains the fix! I did, however, get a crash the first time building (second time worked).

Yup, info from forum: "Apologies for my late reply, the fix is backported and landed in 5.5.1p4 coming this week".

~2 month for fix and backport.... uhh sad

It still does not work on  5.6.0b11. Simply crashes... any older version of Unity where it works?

It's funny, but I did not find a record about fixing this problem in change log of Unity v5.6 beta (from b7 to b11).
I've seen reports that Unity v5.5.1p4 and v5.5.2f1 are working correctly.
